The Office of the Controller of Examinations, Sanothimi, has decided to make arrangements for the Basantapur acid attack victims to sit for their SLC examinations with the help of assistants. The victims will be appearing for their examinations through assistants if they are able to speak.Sangita Magar, 16, from Ramechhap and Sima Basnet, 15, from Rautahat were attacked with acid by an unidentified person at a tuition center in Basantapur, Kathmandu on February 22.Earlier on Friday, the Cabinet had instructed the Ministry of Education to make necessary arrangements for the victims to take their SLC exam.Magar has been receiving treatment at Sinamangal-based Medical College and Basnet has been admitted to Bir Hospital.Likewise, the Exam Controller’s Office has made provision for allowing visually impaired students to take their SLC exams by keeping assistants studying in grade 9.Prior to this, only those students studying in class 8 were allowed to write exams for SLC aspirants, Examination Controller Bishnu Dware said.
